I watched this movie a couple of nights ago and it has been on my mind on and off since watching it. Usually, I would say that is the sign of a good film if it stays with you for a few days after but in this case I'm still not sure.
It was a very bleak movie. In many ways too bleak considering that the premise of the story was one of hope.

I loved it but, you're right, it is bleak and has an uncertain ending.
The thing I find really weird about it is that it was written by Baroness James of Holland Park, a.k.a. the crime writer P. D. James.
Lady James is this little grey-haired, elderly Tory peeress so the thought of her writing such an edgy novel tickles me.
