How about an attempt at some lighthearted conversation?

Anything you like...we'll just amongst ourselves.

Anyone doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day? I have no plans (I have to work, anyway). But I will wear my green Irish sweater with the white shamrocks, and some Irish jewelry (from Hallmark). Yesterday I brought a couple of Irish CDs in to work to listen to - Traditional Airs for the Celtic Harp & Fiddle, and Home, by the Corrs, which is mostly traditional Irish songs. Since I have the kittens (rapidly growing into cats), I haven't been doing much holiday decorating at home, since they'd just knock everything over. Usually I put a string of shamrock lights around my slider, but when I got them I had my ghost lights up, and they kept pulling them down! And most of the other things are breakable. I usually try to watch my video of Little Nelly Kelly (starring Judy Garland) around St. Patrick's Day, too.

St Patrick's Day is not really celebrated here in the same way as it is in the states. I remember being in Virginia one year over St Patrick's Day and I was amazed at how big it was.

I think for most people here the next main holiday will be Easter. Haven't got anything in particular planned for that, just looking forward to a long weekend at home as I have been working a lot of overtime recently.

Anyone else here got plans for Easter or St Patrick's Day?

Yes, I think Michele started to set some titles for certain levels of posting. I intend to continue it but will probably change the titles themselves and probably the number of qualifying posts.

It's just these small little bits of housekeeping that I need to do now, then I will start emailing members to encourage them to start posting again. Meantime if you can encourage people to come back or bring in some new faces that would be great.

The main problem is that when people come here to look there's not much to look at so we really need to get some threads going. They don't need to be major debates just conversations that can develop.

Thanks Juana!

I wanted to retain the political aspect of the place but add some humour too.

Glad you like it.

Well hello ladies.

I will be working St Patrick's day not that i ever celebrate it anyway, town will be rocking though. We have three uni's here and loads of Irish students and boy can they drink some, and they wear the wierdest stuff, all in good fun of course. I suppose because Ireland is only across the drink we have to let them have something all of their own, and St Patricks day is a bank holiday in Ireland so they really go for it over there. Is it a holiday in the US Juana?

Keep up the good work Miss VG, you have done a great job so far. Wink

I will be ignoring St Patrick's Day, as I am not 'Oirish' and I resent the excessive attention that gets paid to this night of drunken hooliganism while St George's Day gets swept under the carpet.

Hehe, can't wait to get my hands on the little collagen blob of pure baby!
