I don't know how many people have heard about this, but it's been the consensus that Congressman Ron Paul won the last Republican Debate. There has been an internet uproar, however, because MSNBC declared a different winner, despite their viewer poll that declared it to be Ron Paul. ABC, in their poll, left him out of the choices available. He was the only person to be omitted, which would be strange for someone who made a strong impact on voters who watched.

I'm sure his name will be popping up more frequently following his good showing in the debate and the increasing disillusionment of many Republicans with the war in Iraq. I've read a little about him, mostly about his "Dr. No" nickname and his voting record. |

Possibly. I know there's little doubt that they tend to pick their darlings despite what the public wants. |

Let's hope so. On the other side of the fence, Democrat supporters feel they're holding a media black-out for Mike Gravel. In fact, ABC even posted something which I consider to be unworthy of a major news corporation.
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=3060812&page=1&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312
Anyway, last night I sent an email to ABC requesting they cover all candidates equally until the primaries decide what the voter wants. It's simply not their choice what they should cover. This is ABC's response to the (probably) hundreds/thousands of letters and comments received:
Ron Paul Effect: Boomlet or Savvy Supporters?
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/comments?type=story&id=3147940
If you read the article, you can see their tone is once again way off the mark. It's more about making excuses than covering his candidacy. In fact, here are some of the articles' comments, which I found to be true. These are the FIRST FIVE comments available, so I didn't pick and choose. I just copied straight down the line:
| Quote: | This article is as biased as the original poll posted by ABC which didn't even include Ron Paul's name. Dismissing the results as some aberration cased by double voting doesn't stand the smell test. The fact is that Ron Paul is the only candidate I could vote for without holding my nose. I think it's time to let your advertisers know how little respect ABC has for the public it serves.

This is really quite insulting. Instead of reporting the facts, ABC is trying to "explain away" some poll results that do not conform to its expectations. Report the news.

This article is incorrect about its own poll. Neither the ABC poll nor the MSNBC poll allowed one user to vote multiple times. "either passionate supporters, active supporters, or just one very savvy supporter who's able to vote several thousand times," Greenberger said." This is quite frankly untrue for the source of information you're reporting about. That you could say that after your own poll specifically does not allow that behavior is astonishing!

Mr. Klein, you are amazing. Two articles in a row denying that the grassroots support for Ron Paul has sustainability and potential to build. In your last piece of trash article, you couldn't even mention his name once. Yet, you gave full paragraphs to each of the top three criminal republicans, and then stated that the field was rounded out by fleetingly mentioning two more. Uh Mr. Klein, that only added up to five republican candidates according to my math skills. You sir, are a dolt and a half. Go get a job at McDonald's. Their cash registers will calculate change for imbeciles like you. Imagine what would happen if the mainstream media gave coverage to Ron Paul equal to that it gives to sacks of dirt like Ghouliani, MacCain, and ROMney. Well, you may be in for a big surprise. Your days as a "journalist" may be nearing the end. The relevance of the likes of ABC, FAUX, et al is diminishing rapidly. The only thing that might save you is another home-grown, corpostate-sponsored terror operation ala 9/11. Only problem is, we're watching this time. WE WANT DR. NO!!!!!!! Ron Paul in 2008. Because we want to take our country back. And we're going to take our country back, dangit.

If ABCNews reset the poll when they added Ron Paul's name, how can they explain the ABSENCE of votes for other candidates? Did an "internet savvy" Paul supporter take them away?

| Quote: | Michigan GOP leader wants Paul barred from future debates
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The chairman of the Michigan Republican Party said Wednesday that he will try to bar Ron Paul from future GOP presidential debates because of remarks the Texas congressman made that suggested the Sept. 11 attacks were the fault of U.S. foreign policy.
Michigan party chairman Saul Anuzis said he will circulate a petition among Republican National Committee members to ban Paul from more debates. At a GOP candidates' debate Tuesday night, Paul drew attacks from all sides, most forcefully from former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, when he linked the terror attacks to U.S. bombings.
"Have you ever read about the reasons they attacked us? They attack us because we've been over there. We've been bombing Iraq for 10 years," Paul said.
Anuzis called the comments "off the wall and out of whack." |

I can't say I'm surprised to hear this. They're trying to push him out because he's telling the truth. |
