An estimated 300,000 visas giving foreigners the right to come to Britain may be wrongly approved every year, a committee of MPs has been told.

What an absolute joke! Can this government get nothing right?

It's bad enough that so-called 'government targets' lead to them getting their priorities wrong but when it affects the security of the nation something has to change.

It also makes a mockery of Labour's claims to be tackling the issue of immigration.

Shame on the BBC to use such imprecise terminology... "estimated" and "may be" do not make the report particularly damning. A bit of 'daily-mail-itis' seems to have struck the venerable corporation. Next thing we will see is a report that house prices 'may have plunged by up to 90%' and we will all be destitute within months
