Tony Blair, a middle-east peace envoy, was flying to Israel but the plane was intercepted by Israeli war planes after the crew failed to identify themselves.

The crew announced who they were by radio when they spotted the war planes adopting attack positions. The war planes quickly peeled off.

Airplanes flying in Israeli airspace are regularly escorted by military jets. The slightest thing can prompt this, a couple of months ago OH's flight number was changed (due to delays) but the company did not let Israel know fast enough so they had an escort for a while and then were met at the airport and the crew was interviewed
